Since WHO announced COVID-19 as Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on 30 January 2020, confirmed cases and fatal cases of COVID-19 has been increasing globally. Global strategy to control COVID-19 pandemic has been directed towards a comprehensive approach. By implementing public health interventions, such as doing more effective active case finding and case tracing, optimal health care delivery in all levels of health facilities, drugs and vaccine development and other alternative therapeutic methods, it is expected to lower case fatality rate of COVID-19. Testing is one of the key factors in controlling COVID-19 spreading.
Increasing laboratory capacity to test SARS-CoV2 by PCR in order to increase total number of test and clinical trial of vaccine or antiviral are the priority activities to combat this pandemic. This third seminar aims to share knowledge, evidences and experiences; particularly describing the laboratory collaboration and clinical trial of vaccine and antiviral in Indonesia to control COVID-19 pandemic.
Objectives
The objectives of this Webinar series #3 are to share knowledge, evidences and experiences; particularly describing the laboratory collaboration and clinical trial of vaccine and antiviral in Indonesia to control COVID-19 pandemic, Specific objectives are:
- To share knowledge of clinical trial progress for SARS-CoV2 vaccine in Indonesia
- To share information on global experience on laboratory networking
- To get better understanding on Indonesia’s challenges on developing laboratory network for COVID-19
- To share knowledge on update of biomolecular testing of COVID-19 Web based seminar series #3 focus area will be on effort and challenges especially in vaccine clinical trial and laboratorium networking.
