According to AISI (Indonesia’s Motorcycle Industry Association), the Motorcycle sales in Indonesia rose 1.8 percent year-on-year (y/y) to 482,537 units in the first month of 2018. Although it is only modest growth, it does give rise to optimism about the direction of domestic motorcycle sales this year. Regarding full-year 2018, they expect Indonesia’s motorcycle sales to rise by about 5 percent (y/y) to 5.9 – 6.1 million units.
Also in the second month of 2018, the exports of Indonesian motorcycles were strong. Based on data from the association, the country’s motorcycle exports surged 37.2 percent year-on-year (y/y) to 76,700 units in the first two months of 2018 combined. It could mean that 2018 will become another great year for motorcycle exporters.
In its ninth edition, INABIKE 2019 will more focus for the motorcycle industry. The exhibition has a significant business-to-business element and provides an effective platform for motorcycle companies and manufacturers interested in selling products and services to regional retailers and distributors.
