Kegiatan ini diberi nama COMMPRESS 2016 dengan tema “FREEDOM JOURNALISM.” Pertama kali dilaksanakan tahun 2012, dalam perkembangannya, COMMPRESS masih mempertahankan ciri khasnya yaitu pameran jurnalistik. Adapun tema yang diambil oleh COMMPRESS 2016 adalah “FREEDOM JOURNALISM,” merujuk pada kesejahteraan para pelaku pers dalam menjalankan tanggungjawabnya melayani publik lewat informasi-informasi yang disampaikan.
